Navigating linux

The cd and dir commands work the same as in Windows.

Cd to change directory

Dir or ls to list the contents of the current directory

When browsing directories you need to use the following syntax:
‘ /var/ ‘ for the top level folders. The subsequent folders need a / after them, E.G ‘ cd folder/ ‘

To search for a file in the current folder you can use the below. The .(dot) is selecting the current directory. E.g. if you’re in /home/myuser, find /home/myuser and find . have the same result.
find . -name “foo*”
