  • Download the Office deployment tool using the link above, run the downloaded .exe, select a local folder(for example C:\ODT2016) and extract the files (you will get two files, setup.exe and configuration.xml).
  • Replace the content of the configuration.xml with the following lines, note the “excludeApp ID=” line. In this example we’re excluding Skype.
- <Configuration>
- <Add OfficeClientEdition="64" Channel="Monthly">
- <Product ID="O365ProPlusRetail">
  <Language ID="en-us" />
  </Product>
- <Product ID="VisioProRetail">
  <Language ID="en-us" />
  </Product>
  </Add>
- <!--   <Updates Enabled="TRUE" Channel="Monthly" />
  -->
- <!--   <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" />
  -->
- <!--   <Property Name="AUTOACTIVATE" Value="1" />
  -->
  </Configuration>
  • Open the Command Prompt window. (Win + R > cmd)
  •  Run cd c:\ODT2016. (the folder path where you have saved the installation tool)
  • Download the installation files by running the following command:
    • setup.exe /download configuration.xml

The downloader will not look like its doing anything and may get stuck but you can check the download folder it should max out at 1.6GB. It will create a folder called “ODT2016” in the C: directory with the files in it. At which point you can exit the command and navigate to the newly created folder. You may also need to move the files created by the deployment tool to this directory.

  • Install the application by running the command below:

 setup.exe /configure configuration.xml

It may take a while to download and install the application.
