Improve Windows performance

  • sfc /scannow
  • DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  • Disable transparency effects.
    • Open control panel.
    • Select System.
    • Click the Advanced system settings link from the left pane.
    • Click the Advanced tab.
    • Under the “Performance” section, click the Settings button.
    • Click the Visual Effects tab.
    • Select the Adjust for best performance option to disable all the effects and animations. (Reselect the font smoothing).
  • Select high performance in power settings
  • Update Windows
  • Check that defragmentation is running. This is usually enabled by default.
  • Turn off background apps
    • Open Settings.
    • Click on Privacy.
    • Click on Background apps.
    • Turn off the toggle switch for the apps you want to prevent from running in the background.
  • Disable app re-launch on startup
    • Open Settings.
    • Click on Sign-in options.
    • Under the “Privacy” section, turn off the Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an upgrade or restart option.
  • Disable start-up items
